Processor Guide 2025 – First Semester

Following our semiannual guides, now it’s time to update processor recommendations! Here we will help you choose the best CPU purchase and give that dreamed upgrade.

The factors that will guide our recommendations will be prices, performance and technologies included in the products. It is always important to remember that prices in Brazil vary widely. Time to update our processor recommendations, using price and performance reference of products available today in the market

This initial semester had more highlights for the red side of the force, with the arrival of High Performance Processors AMD Ryzen 9 9900x3D and 9950x3D, presented at CES on January 6.

In the last week of June, there was a silent Latin American release of the Ryzen 5 5500x3D, which still managed to squeeze a little more performance for an audience seeking to save money.

On the blue side of the force, the releases were focused more on notebooks, but without leaving the desktops aside, as we had the Intel Core Ultra 5 245, 235 and 225 processors, and was also presented at CES on January 6.

We will have our chart separating processors by price segment, as well as the classic cost progression graph of these plates, and compare the value of different products.

CPUS Performance Reference

When it comes to processors, various programs and games will benefit from different characteristics it is impossible to create a single chart to ranking all products. Different games and applications will take more or less benefits from different characteristics, such as higher frequencies or larger nucleus count.

Usually we see a more direct impact on the performance of professional applications linked to nuclei counting, as well as frequencies usually jump their performance in games more.

But this relationship is not direct, and the two factors and others – such as cache – can influence performance.

To illustrate this duality, let’s use two graphs to measure performance. One will use CineBench, a heavy rendering application, to give a sense of these CPUS performance in professional use applications.

Already to get a sense of the ability of these processors to run games, we will use the average performance created based on our processor analysis. It consists of eight games, and you can see the average testing or see individualized in the chart below.

We also cross information about the cost and performance of processors in games, generating this graph with the cost per board per second (FPS) delivered to games or on the average of all games.
