We reported last week that to Sony was close to confirming the compatibility of the PSVR 2 for the PC. What indicated this was the certification of an adapter, registered in March with the South Korean regulatory body. And now it has been officially confirmed. PlayStation VR2 will be compatible with PC from August 7th.

In a note sent to Hardware.com.br, Sony highlights that to use the PSVR2 on the PC you will need a specific adapter, available at selected retailers, in addition to the DisplayPort 1.4 cable, a Steam account and a PC that meets the minimum requirements.

Minimum PC requirements to use PlayStation VR2

  • Processador: Intel Core i5-7600/AMD Ryzen 3 3100;
  • RAM memory: 8 GB+;
  • Video card: NVIDIA GTX 1650+/AMD RX 5500XT+;
  • DisplayPort: 1.4;
  • USB and Bluetooth: Direct connection and Bluetooth 4.0+;
  • Operating system: Windows 10/11 64-bit.

Setup is simple: connect your PS VR2 to your PC, download the necessary apps and start playing. Although some PS5 features will not be available on the platform, many high-fidelity features will be supported, such as 4K visuals and 3D audio, Sony highlights in a note.

As our brother highlights, GameVicio, as the headset was created with the PS5 in mind, Sony says that some functions will not be available on PC. HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback technologies will not work. Still, players will have access to 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110º field of view, finger touch detection, 3D audio and much more.

How much does the PlayStation VR2 cost in Brazil?

The PlayStation VR 2 was launched in Brazil on February 22nd for R$4,499.90. Currently, it is possible to find the device with a lower value. Like, for example, the PSVR2+ Horizon Call of The Mountai bundle, sold on Amazon for R$3,999.90.
