Peladn presents his first external GPU dock with Thunderbolt 5

Peladn presented a new dock for external GPUs this week called Link S-3. To try to stand out in this increasingly warm segment, the company has opted for a low profile design device and Thunderbolt 5 connection.

There are two doors with the interface, giving up the Occupulink connection, which is usually more common in docks of the type. Theoretically, the Thunderbolt 5 reaches a higher band – up to 80gbps bidirectional. However, the connection to limited by the Slot PCIE 4.0 x4 interface to the video card, offering the same 64gbps that the Occulink connection already reaches.

The biggest advantage of using Thunderbolt 5 at POADN Dock is that the power delivery connection up to 140W and can use the same cable to pass image and recharge the notebook.

Low S-3 Low Profile design can also be attractive not only to transport the product, but also to make the GPU exposed. Current video cards can be especially flashy, and certainly some users will prefer it to appear instead of getting hidden in a dock.

Peladn Link S-3 also includes SLOT for SSD

The new POADN dock also includes some more features and connections. Among them, a slot for SSDS M.2 2280, which has been popular in GPUS external docks like the S-3 link. The connection interface is only PCIe 3.0 x1, however.

In addition to the storage drive connection, the product brings an Ethernet port, a SD card slot and a 10Gbps USB-A port.

The S-3 link already appears in pre-sale in stores in China such as JD.com, for the suggested price of 1,599 yuans. It is the equivalent of approximately R $ 1,240 in the current price. Product shipping starts on July 26, and at the moment POADN made no promises for global availability or outside China.
