PC automaker now guarantees the sending of RTX 50 with a certain number of rops

Taking advantage of NVIDIA’s “hesitation” to let a certain amount of plates in its RTX 50 series with the incorrect number of Rops, a PC automaker promotes itself with a new warranty. CyberPowerPC informs on its official page that now tests NVIDIA’s current GPUs to see if they have the right amount of rops before shipping.

When selecting a PC from the store with a 50 RTX equipped, the potential buyer will view a warning of the automaker that says, in free translation:

“CyberPowerPC will ensure that all systems equipped with GeForce RTX 5090, 5080 and 5070 Ti video cards have the correct number of rops before shipping.”

When he recognized that a manufacturing defect resulted in video cards from the RTX 50 series with less rops than standard specifications, Nvidia stated that it is a very small number of GPUS – only 0.5%. In addition, the company ensured the replacement of the affected models.

However, besides being a hindrance for the consumer to take care of the logistics of sending their board back, extremely limited RTX 50 units in its launch can mean considerable delay to receive a replacement. This way, the guarantee of not having to go through this can be a good attraction for CyberPowerPC.

All RTX 50 currently available can have less rops

Despite being a small number of affected GPUS, and a small number of less Rops, all currently available RTX 50 can have the problem.

It is a missing processing unit, which results in a total of 8 ROPs less. This impacts performance by about 4% on game tests, which could be enough to make a consumer opt for one plate or another.

In admitting the problem, Nvidia spoke of RTX 5090 and RTX 5070 IT, but when models from RTX 5080 were found with the same defect, the company assumed that they were affected as well. It remains to be seen now if the situation will extend even to the standard RTX 5070 and RTX 5060.
