This week the first leak of a laptop equipped with a Panther Lake processor appeared. The OneXPlayer X1, which currently uses an Intel CPU, should gain a new version equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 338H, as revealed in test results on Geekbench.
The Panther Lake generation of processors is aimed at compact PCs and notebooks, but as Intel does not yet have a line specially optimized for notebooks, it is expected that these CPUs will be used in handhelds. So it was with the Lunar Lake generation.
The Core Ultra 5 338H appears in the benchmark details with a 12-core configuration, matching what we’ve seen in previous leaks. In more detailed rumors, we had information that there will be 4 performance cores + 4 efficiency cores and 4 low power (LP) cores.
The listed clock is 1.9GHz, going up to 3.68GHz in boost. The frequency of processors, however, often appears different in these leaks than what we see in their commercial releases. Even so, it’s too early to compare the score obtained by the OneXPlayer X1 with Panther Lake with other notebooks.
OneXPlayer X1 targets the most unique processor in the Panther Lake line
For a portable gaming device like the OneXPlayer X1, the processor’s integrated graphics gain immense importance. It is interesting to see, then, the Core Ultra 5 338H as the choice for the new handheld.
This CPU is accompanied by the most unique integrated GPU in the Panther Lake generation. Core Ultra X model uses 12 Xe3 cores in the iGPU, while almost all other Core Ultra Series 3 use 4 Xe3 cores. Two entry-level models were leaked with 2 Xe3 cores in integrated graphics.

The Core Ultra 5 338H is the only one with 10 Xe3 cores, making the component a more powerful graphics option than the others, but still more affordable than the Ultra X processors at the top of the Panther Lake line.
