Geekbench is a benchmark test where we can often see the first leaks for new processors. It was no different for Intel’s Panther Lake series, which now had information about the Core Ultra X7 358H appearing in the famous synthetic test.

The processor is an intermediate model in the new Core Ultra X line, which makes its debut in the new Panther Lake generation of Intel processors, the Core Ultra 300 series. The leak on Geekbench confirms information that had previously appeared for the CPU:

As we can see, the Core Ultra X7 358H would have 12 Xe3 cores, represented in the test as 96 Compute Units – 12 cores times 8 CUs in each. It is this Xe3 unit count that defines the Panther Lake Core Ultra X line.

Additionally, the test shows 16 CPU cores, with 4 in one cluster and 12 in another. There would be 4 performance cores and 12 efficiency cores, which can still be separated into 8 traditional efficiency cores and another 4 LP, very low consumption cores.

New Panther Lake is ahead of Arc A550M

To talk about the effective benchmark score, it is important to remember that this type of leak does not offer ideal conditions for comparisons. We don’t know the details of how the test was performed, and it probably wasn’t done with the right drivers. Additionally, VideoCardz points out that Intel generally doesn’t do well in the OpenCL test.

The test was carried out on an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 notebook, and different results appear on Geekbench. The best score is 52,014, which puts the processor ahead of the Arc A550M by some distance.

The number is also close to an RTX 3050 for notebooks, while the Core Ultra X7 358H will consume considerably less energy than GPUs. There is talk of a TDP of 28W, but we have no confirmation.

Intel processors on sale:

The first notebooks with Panther Lake will begin arriving later this year, but general availability is expected in early 2026.
