Intel continues to launch updates about its Panther Lake processors, which will be the first to use Intel 18a process technology. They should bring significant improvements from Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake.
The New Architecture combines the energy efficiency of Lunar Lake with the advanced performance of Arrow Lakeproviding an optimized experience in various segments.
Panther Lake CPUS not only have innovative CPU nuclei, but also offer GPU and NPU enhanced with the “heavenly” XE3 architecture. In addition, these chips support LPDDR5 and DDR5, ensuring scalability for home use, games and commercial applications.

The production of Intel Panther Lake processors is scheduled to start in the second half of 2025, with the first devices reaching the market in early 2026.
During this year’s computer, Intel is showing an open version of Panther Lake, which includes five Tiles:
- Compute Tile -Includes Cove Cove P-Cores and Darkmont E-Cores centers occupying most of the space.
- GPU Tile – Heavenly XE3 architecture for advanced graphics.
- SoC Tile e I/O Tile – Connectivity and efficiency management.
- Filling tile – Structural organization of design.

A reference validation platform (RVP) and a development kit were also presented by the company. RVP contained a set of LPDDR5X memory chips and a copper heat sink. The CPU was actively cooled.
Specifications
In addition to the chip demonstration, Intel presented laptops equipped with Panther Lake CPUS, still at engineering internship. Compared to Lunar Lake, Panther Lake promises significantly superior AI performance, reaching twice efficiency.

Preliminary specifications reveal that CPU Panther Lake has:
- 16 nuclei and 16 threads (without SMT support).
- Base frequency of 2.0 GHz, with tests indicating operation close to 3 GHz.
- Expectation of final frequencies above 5 GHz.
- Cache de 1.6 MB L1, 24 MB L2 and 18 MB L3.
Although these details are based on initial samples, more information will be released throughout the year. During Tech Tour, Intel promises to reveal news about Panther Lake.
