Oracle will invest $ 40 billion in 400,000 GPUS NVIDIA as part of the Stargate project

Oracle has announced that it should invest a total of $ 40 billion to buy Nvidia’s GPUS and help build a new Data Center in Abilene, Texas. When completed, the installation should become one of the largest in the world, and serve as one of the main highlights for the Stargate project.

The project is led by Softbank and OpenAi, who lead the collection of $ 500 billion to invest in AI infrastructure not only in the US, but also in the rest of the world. This is why OpenAi already has a license to take advantage of Oracle’s new investment for the next 15 years.

According to Financial Times, the Data Center should open in mid -2026, incorporating about 400,000 NVIDIA GB200 accelerator units. Construction should happen accelerated now that OpenAi has ended its exclusive contract with the US, as the company’s servers became insufficient to the owner of ChatgPT.

The new Data Center will expand by eight buildings, occupying a total of 875 acres of Texan geography. Not only that, it is estimated that the installation will need a total of 1.2 gigawatts of power to work, which can impact the local power grid.

Oracle joins OpenAi, Softbank and Arab MGX for Stargate Project

One aspect that draws a lot of attention in partnerships for the Stargate project is the participation of the company MGX, public control by the Government of the United Arab Emirates. This is why one of the first facilities of the United States project is scheduled for Abu Dhabi.
