Console owners Xbox One purchased at launch in 2013, may encounter problems. According to the X/Twitter profile Digital Foundrythe older models unable to download firmware update latest if they haven’t been updated for a while.

Tests were conducted on three different Xbox One models, two from 2017 and one from 2018. All failed to download and install the latest firmware, even when using a USB flash drive to transfer the update directly to the console.

Let’s face it, the overwhelming majority of users don’t care about update your devices firmware. But in the case of the Xbox One, this is particularly complicated. In order to play games or use online services on the Xbox One, the consoles need to be running the latest version of the firmware.
