NZXT announces N9 X870E: new high-end AM5 board in black and white

NZXT took advantage of the official arrival of the new X870 and X870E boards to reveal its N9 X870E, a new top-of-the-line mobo with AM5 socket. The card will be launched in black and white and comes with several advanced features – including a heatsink array that covers all of its M.2 slots.

The manufacturer highlights that the new NZXT N9 X870E is compatible not only with Ryzen 9000 processors, based on Zen 5, but also with the Ryzen 8000 and 7000 series. This is thanks to AMD’s extended compatibility policy.

Being a high-end model, the new NZXT motherboard is compatible with USB 4, PCIe 5.0, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7, as expected. Despite opting for a more discreet look, the model does not completely give up RGB lights, accompanying a subtle detail on the metal cover.

The card has an M.2 slot compatible with PCIe 5.0 just above the GPU connection with the same interface. Below, we have another three M.2 slots, with PCIe 4.0 connection. A metal frame holds a complete heatsink that covers all these slots, eliminating the need for a heatsink to be incorporated into the SSD.

As expected, the dual-channel slots for DRAM modules are compatible with DDR5.

NZXT still doesn’t talk about prices for the N9 X870E

While several AM5 motherboards are making their debut today, NZXT will only launch the N9 X870E next year. The manufacturer only says that the model will arrive in the first quarter of 2025.

Therefore, NZXT does not inform the price of the product. Of course, being a “flagship” card, a high price is to be expected. For reference, an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero costs US$700. That’s roughly R$3,806 at the current price.
