NVIDIA would be readjusting its focus on supplying GPUs to prioritize the 8GB RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, while reducing the supply of cards with more capacity, such as the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti and 5070 Ti. The information is not official, so it should be treated as a rumor.
The rumors come from Board Channels, a forum known for bringing together people close to the hardware supply chain. Like everything that has been happening since the end of last year, NVIDIA’s change in strategy would be because of the exacerbated memory values, caused by the AI hype in the professional segment.
“Due to the impact of high-priced memory chips, NVIDIA has made adjustments to the structure of the RTX 50 series product line in 2026,” says the post on Board Channels. “They have reduced shipments of the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and RTX 5070 Ti and readjusted the supply strategy for future flagship RTX 50 series models.”
8GB RTX 5060 variants will be “key” products in China
According to VideoCardz, the reduction in the supply of 16GB cards has already been felt in some regions. Japan would have started to ration the amount of GPU sales and in Europe it is also not easy to maintain stock of more advanced products. The post on Board Channels adds:
“NVIDIA and AIB brands will rebrand the 8GB RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti series as the flagship products, with a significant impact on logistics. These have also been confirmed as the key models for RTX 50 series sales in the Chinese market. The RTX 5060 will have the largest inventory, followed by the 8GB 5060 Ti.”
Further price increments are not ruled out
The current rumors conclude with the statement that the possibility of further price increases for the next quarter on NVIDIA GPUs has been “confirmed”, which seems plausible since no improvements are expected for the memory market in 2026.
