A new rumor shared on Board Channels reveals that NVIDIA is also planning to end production of the GeForce RTX 4080 Super GPU – launched in early 2024. The intention is to allow stocks to stay low and even run out, making room for the arrival of future ones. GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 graphics cards.
According to information leaked on the platform, production of the hardware will be completed this October, with limited supply starting in November. The manufacturer and its commercial partners have not confirmed the information so far, so it’s worth not worrying too much for now.
If confirmed, NVIDIA will repeat what is being seen with the RTX 4090 for its GeForce RTX 4080 Super GPU. In case you haven’t been following, stock in Europe was suddenly reduced and – consequently – there was a significant increase in its selling price. Currently the video card is no longer found in countries like Germany.
In other words, it is possible that we will see the same type of problem with the end of production of graphics cards – if the rumor is confirmed, which could happen either with an official statement from the manufacturers and NVIDIA itself or with a different movement in the market, indicating that the process may be similar.

The leak pointing to the closure of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super GPU also reveals that the company is planning to launch its new GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards simultaneously.
Both target the high-end market and will possibly be presented during CES 2025, which will take place next January. Some rumors stated that one could arrive before the other, but now it is seen that the manufacturer wants to bring both to the market at the same time.
In addition to the GeForce RTX 5090 and the RTX 5080, NVIDIA is reportedly also working on an RTX 5090 D version – aimed at the Chinese market and complying with the sanctions imposed by the US Government to impede its technological advancement.
