NVIDIA released this week a chart bragging about already sent twice as many video card units in the RTX 50 series of what it did with the RTX 40 during the release period. Advertising is made amid criticism of the availability of products, which appear for much higher values ​​than MSRP due to the scarcity of inventory in stores.
Apparently, Nvidia wants to imply that she is sending several units of RTX 50 to shopkeepers, and the low availability could be attributed to the success of the signs. However, the comparison period with RTX 40 shipments makes the chart well questionable.
As we can see in the image above, Nvidia is comparing the first 5 weeks of the RTX 50 series with the first 5 weeks of the RTX 40 series. The number is precisely the period when only RTX 4090 was available.
Unlike RTX 50, which already made their debut on January 30 with 5090 and 5080 together, the RTX 40 series started with 4090 on October 12, 2022 and this was the only model to buy in generation until November 16 – ie for 5 weeks.

DLSS is successful in plates in the RTX 50 series
NVIDIA has increasingly promoting its exclusive technologies as one of the main attractions of its new GPUs, not just hardware processing power itself. This is why the real focus of the company in this disclosure was to promote DLSS.
According to the GeForce owner, 92% of RTX 50 board users turn on DLSS. Moreover they use reflex: a 96%slice. Ray Tracing is also activated by the overwhelming majority of new video card owners, appearing on 90% of the machines.
The company points out that more than 100 games already have DLSS 4, specifically, and mentions that the technology will reach more titles soon, highlighting the port of Stellar Blade for the PC as an example.
