Possible specifications of the RTX 5090

The RTX 5090, flagship of the new line, promises to redefine performance standards. Contrary to previous speculation, the card should have an impressive 512-bit memory busexceeding initial 448-bit expectations. Additionally, the GPU will come equipped with generous 32GB of GDDR7 memorysetting a new standard for graphics processing capacity and speed.

At the heart of the RTX 5090 will be the GB202-300 GPU, equipped with 21,760 cores CUDA. Although this number represents a 13% reduction in relation to the chip’s maximum potential, it still promises a substantial leap compared to the previous generation. One aspect that draws attention is power consumption: rumors point to a specification of 600W, a considerable increase compared to the 450W of the current model.

Interestingly, despite the increase in power, NVIDIA appears to be sticking with a dual-slot cooler design for the Founders Edition. This suggests the possible implementation of innovative cooling solutions, perhaps even an integrated liquid cooling system.

Possible specifications of the RTX 5080

As for the RTX 5080, the information indicates that it will use the GB203-400 GPU, with 10,752 CUDA cores. The board must come with 16GB of GDDR7 memory and one 256-bit bus.

It is interesting to note that the GB203’s specifications appear to be half of those of the GB202, including when it comes to the width of the memory bus. The RTX 5080’s power consumption is estimated at 400W, a considerable increase over the RTX 4080’s 320W.

It is speculated that a future SUPER version of the RTX 5080 could utilize the GB202 GPU, offering a wider bus and potentially more memory. This opens up intriguing possibilities for future upgrades within the same generation.

While NVIDIA has not officially announced a release date for the RTX 50 series, many experts believe the announcement could come later this year. The company is slightly behind its usual schedule, considering it’s been two years since the launch of the RTX 4090 and 4080.

The new generation of NVIDIA graphics cards promises to not only improve the gaming experience, but also boost applications that demand high graphics processing power, such as 3D rendering, artificial intelligence and virtual reality. What do you think of these supposed technical specifications?
