New benchmarks show that the new Nvidia RTX 5050 exceeded the RTX 3060 and ran almost the same level as the previous generation RTX 4060. The tests were performed by Hong Kong’s GPUS manufacturer who shares a controlling company with Zotac.

The tests were published in Weibo and, who highlighted them to the West was the user @hauzake5719, from X, former Twitter.

The RTX 5050 is the NVIDIA Series 50 input video card, with only 8 GB of GDDR6 and a maximum 130 watts TDP. Announced last week, the plate arrives at the end of the month.

TEST RESULTS

Inno3D tests show that RTX 5050 surpassed RTX 4060 in various tests 3DMark, incluindo Steel Nomad, Speed Way, Port Royal, Fire Strike Ultra e Fire Strike. A RTX 4060 obtained better scores on two tests, Timespy Extreme and Timespy, but the advantage is less than 10%.

The company then run benchmarks in four games and although RTX 4060 has surpassed the new GPU in all titles, The FPS numbers were not so far away.

The overall results show that players with limited budget will receive a basic level 50 series GPU with almost as good performance as a higher level GPU of the previous generation.

In contrast, for users of RTX 4060 or even RTX 3060, RTX 5050 may not be an update. It is developed for those who use GTX GTX 10 or 16 older GTX GPUS, or RTX Video Plates 20 Series of Basic Level.

The RTX 5050 was announced last week and costs only $ 249 ($ 1357), allowing players with limited budget to buy the RTX family of the 50 series for games in 1080p. The price is much more affordable than RTX 5090, which reaches $ 28,000.

Although the RTX 5060 also has 8 GB of Vram, it uses GDDR7 and has more CUDA centers for better performance. It also has a suggested price of $ 299, and there are strong reasons for additional board partners to offer their variants at higher prices.

The RTX 5050 competes directly with Intel B580, launched in December last year, and has the same price. However, the latter has 4 GB over Vram and a larger 192 -bit memory bus. The RTX 5050 has a 128 -bit memory bus.

Competition scenario

Nvidia has practically the monopoly of the GPUS market. And with the launch of RTX 5050, it can damage AMD’s strategy to be aggressive in prices.

From Intel, the B580 is an attractive alternative due to its largest Vram. For users who are willing to save a little more, an alternative can be to purchase a 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti.

In short, It is so difficult to compete with Nvidia that other good options to Nvidia’s license plate are older models of the green team.
