NVIDIA has released a new hotfix focusing on three specific issues related to image output and the behavior of the NVIDIA Control Panel. And it’s worth remembering that, as a hotfix, It is a beta version that should only be installed by users experiencing specific issues.
For RTX users (and not only), this should be the last GPU update in 2025. It is unknown when NVIDIA plans to release a new Game Ready update and, as far as we know, there are no more major game releases this year that NVIDIA can link to new drivers.

This week, it’s Christmas and next week is New Year. And that’s enough for no company to think about a surprise launch for a major title. Highguard should be the next major title to be released and is expected to be released at the end of January 2026.
Put another way, users who did not experience the issues fixed by this hotfix can stick with version 591.59 of the GeForce driver, which brought fixes for AC Valhalla and Dying Light: The Beast.

According to the green team, users may notice slight banding in gradients when running the program in SDR color mode. In this case, smooth transitions, such as skies, shadows, or interface transitions, could have visible steps instead of a smooth transition. Update 591.67 aims to fix this issue.
The hotfix also resolves cases where Digital Vibrance is not applied correctly, which can result in inconsistent color saturation changes on the desktop and in applications, even with the setting enabled.
The third fix targets the control panel itself, restoring the ability to disable the “Show icon in notification tray” optionso that the NVIDIA icon doesn’t get stuck in the system tray after users try to disable it.
Fear of 2026
PowerColor has already warned that GPU prices will increase in 2026. And the company recommended buying a GPU in 2025. And IDC predicts an increase of up to 8% in the price of PCs for 2026.
Unfortunately, Black Friday has already passed, but Kabum still has some end of year offers. Interested parties can purchase an RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3x OC for R$6,189.00, an RTX 5080 GAMING OC for R$8,999.99 or an RTX 5090 GAMING OC for R$18,999.99 before the year ends.
However, it is prudent to prepare for a difficult 2026.
