Nvidia and MediaTek may be joining the strength to create a new processor focused on gamer notebooks, according to recent leaks that have stirred the technology industry. The expectation is that a new APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) Represents an important leap to the brand in a segment historically dominated by Intel and AMD.
Low image and rumors about launch
The leak came on the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, which shared the image of a supposed prototype of the labeling chip as “Eng Sample”. According to the channel, the source would be a professional from inside Nvidia, which gives some degree of reliability to information, although not yet officially confirmed.

The chip in question would have estimated energy consumption between 80W is 120wssuggesting that it is an APU capable of balanced graphic performance and thermal efficiency – something relevant to notebooks, where physical limitations have always been a challenge.
The energy consumption range would also indicate a possible focus on reducing the need for very robust cooling systems.
ARM as the main architecture
The most curious part of the leak is the possible presence of an ARM processorsupposedly manufactured by MediaTek, instead of the traditional X86 Intel and AMD architecture.
This partnership would indicate that Nvidia may be preparing to serve a market that has already begun to move toward CPS Chips for PCs, seeking greater energy efficiency.
Apparently, the integrated GPU of this chip would be based on a NVIDIA proprietary architecture, while the CPU ARM would offer the base for general processing.
This would remember the hybrid model that AMD adopted on chips like Strix Halo, but with Nvidia betting on its own graphic technology to offer better visual performance and support to features such as DLSS 4 and AI frame generation.

Bet on an ARM chip, coupled with a NVIDIA proprietary GPU, can open a new range of opportunities for gamer notebooks, especially with regard to energy efficiency and compaction of components
Another point raised by the rumors is that Nvidia would have signed a initial exclusivity agreement with Dellspecifically for the alienware line. This partnership would allow the company to test the new chip in the gamer market before making it available to other manufacturers.
Dell, which already has solid partnerships with Nvidia on other fronts – such as artificial intelligence solutions – would be interested in expanding its alienware notebook line with an APU model that combined good performance and longer battery life.
The expectation, according to sources, is that the launch will take place in the Fourth quarter of 2025 or early 2026.

Weight competition
Although still in a rumor stage, the news of an Arm chip for Gamer notebooks puts Nvidia in an unprecedented competitive scenario against brands that already have consolidated solutions in this niche. AMD, for example, has lines like Phoenix e Strix Pointwhile Intel keeps robust offers in WWATT performance on several mobile CPUS lines.
Nvidia, in turn, seems to be determined to expand its range beyond the dedicated GPUS market, taking advantage of increasing demand for optimized AI processing solutions and energy efficiency.
It is worth remembering that the company already operates in this regard with the Tegra T239arm chip that will feed the Nintendo Switch 2, and with platforms like the DGX Sparkgeared towards corporate AI.

What to wait next
To date, Nvidia has not confirmed the development of the new APU, not even publicly signaled any details about it. If rumors are realized, the launch would represent the entry of a new weight competitor in the dispute for space in gamer notebooks – and can also have direct impacts on the market PCs ultracompactos.
The potential of this Arm chip is still uncertain, but the combination of energy efficiency And Nvidia’s graphic expertise looks enough to shake an industry that until then was quite accommodated.
