NVIDIA is currently considered the company that offers the most advanced products for AI acceleration and, according to current rumors, the company intends to create more distance from its competitors by bringing forward the launch of Rubin, the next generation of its architecture for GPUs.
Evidently, the information is still in its rumor phase and should be viewed with skepticism. The rumors began to circulate in a report by the Taiwan Economic Daily, which notes the possibility of advancing Rubin’s launch as a business strategy. According to information, the architecture could arrive six months earlier, bringing its debut from 2026 to the second half of 2025.
The folks at WCCFTech speculate that the decision to bring forward the debut of Rubin GPUs, if confirmed, could be a result of the technologies for them being ready. NVIDIA’s next architecture will use TSMC’s 3nm process to manufacture the cores, accompanied by HBM4 memory. Both components are entering mass manufacturing, which would enable the early arrival of the new NVIDIA GPUs.
Rubin early: outlier or new standard?
If rumors about Rubin’s early arrival are confirmed, it raises the question of what this means for the future of NVIDIA architectures. In other words, the company may just be taking advantage of a favorable situation for an early launch, or it may be changing its launch cycle.
Currently, NVIDIA is already at a fast pace of annual debuts of new architectures, as was the case with Ampere, Hopper and Blackwell. Thus, Rubin arriving in 2025 would be unexpected for the cycle.

Finally, one must consider what this advance could mean for Blackwell Ultra. There are rumors that we will see a B300 series of more advanced boards based on Blackwell arriving in mid-2025. If this launch comes to fruition, bringing forward the arrival of the Rubin architecture could cannibalize the components. Who knows, perhaps CES 2025 will shed some new light on NVIDIA’s future plans.
