After becoming a debatable bag costing the equivalent of an RTX 5080, the classic GT 730 makes a new comeback, and this time as a graphics card. Chinese AIB Maxsun decided that the debut quarter of the new RTX 50 generation was a great time to bring back this GPU that has already turned 10 years old.
The models, specifically, are the MS-GT730 Hammer 4G and the MS-GT730 Hammer 2G, that is, cards with 4GB and 2GB of VRAM memory, respectively. As Tom’s Hardware explains, at the time entry-level video cards varied greatly in their customizations, and there were GT 730 models with DDR3 and even GDDR5 memory. In this case, we are talking about boards with DDR3.
The new old Maxsun cards use the GK208 GPU, based on Kepler 2.0. There are 384 CUDA cores, manufactured using TSMC’s 28nm process. The GPU clock is 902MHz, while the memory frequency is 1,333MHz. The TDP also attracts a lot of attention nowadays: just 50W.
NVIDIA’s partner appears not to have changed much in the original version of the card. The connections offered then include a VGA, a DVI and an HDMI port.
NVIDIA GT 730 returns compact in price and size
Maxsun expects the attractions of its revived GT 730 to be the price and size. The GPUs are on sale in China, with the 2GB option costing the equivalent of US$45 and the 4GB variant costing US$5 more. In the current conversion, they represent more or less R$272 and R$302, respectively.
The company also highlights the measurements of the products. The GT 730 returns with 18.6cm in length, just 11cm in width and, finally, 3.5cm in thickness.
