According to a post on Board Channels, NVIDIA is relocating its production lines to focus on the RTX 50 series, with only one AD107 line still operational. This means that production of lines AD102, AD103, AD104 and AD106 has ended.
Only AD102-based models have shown consistently low inventory levels in recent weeks.
It is known that NVIDIA is adjusting its production capabilities and is now focusing on next-generation GPUs. Although no official information has been released, there are many rumors online. NVIDIA is expected to announce the new series in January 2025 and launch the first products in its wake.
Discontinuation?
Officially and unofficially, NVIDIA has not yet discontinued any RTX 40 series GPUs. However, as always, there is some confusion about what “discontinuation” means for graphics cards.
In many cases, it means they are no longer being manufactured. In this way, existing units are being allocated until inventory is exhausted, which may take weeks or even months before inventory is exhausted.
Rumors about the RTX 50
For the RTX 50 series, rumors indicate it will launch with high-performance models first, which suggests that NVIDIA may have a large inventory of Ada Lovelace GPUs or that the launch will be earlier than expected.
Rumors also indicate that NVIDIA may introduce its RTX 50 series in three months, with the RTX 5070 series launching in February and the RTX 5060 in March.
- RTX 5090/5090D/5080: January 2025
- RTX 5070/5070Ti: February 2025
- RTX 5060/5060Ti: March 2025
The information has not yet been confirmed and should therefore be treated as rumors.
