Among the most used GPUs by Steam users, the GeForce RTX 3060 has been dominating the list. Now, with a drop in adoption, it has given way to its natural replacement, the RTX 4060, but not its desktop PC version, but the mobile version that equips notebooks.

Steam’s June hardware report shows that the RTX 3060 saw a 0.53% drop after recovering from a similar drop in April. Now, in June, NVIDIA’s Ampere GPU has an even smaller share (5.66%) than the drop seen two months ago.

Another video card that had been growing in recent months, the GeForce GTX 1650 also closed June down 0.36%, remaining in second place, but with a 4.16% share.

On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 4060 was the fastest growing GPU in June. With increase of 0.74%it now occupies the third position on the Steam list, but in its mobile version. The desktop version grew 0.20% and now occupies the ninth position.

As if the two RTX 4060 series GPUs weren’t enough to climb positions, the strongest of them, the RTX 4060 Ti, follows suit in 11th, thanks to a 0.14% growth and the drop of the other GPUs below it.

Other GPUs that grew in June

Two other graphics cards that closed the month of June with greater adoption by PC gamers are the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER (+0.20%) and RTX 4070 mobile (+0.10%), and the AMD Radeon RX 6750 GRE 12 GB, which arrived with a 0.20% share. Even registering an increase, none of these GPUs have even a 1% share.

If we consider only the data from the Steam hardware survey, AMD has had fewer and fewer users, as the few GPUs that appear among the most used have seen drops in the number of users, with the exception of the RX 6750 GRE.

Among processors, models with 6 cores, 8 cores and 4 cores predominate in Steam users’ computers with 33.40%, 20.29% and 18.65%, respectively. All of them closed June with a drop, with the biggest one being among quad-core (-1.20%). Growth has gone to processors with more than 10 cores.

In Brazil, the possible future most popular video card on Steam can be found for around R$2,000, which is still a lot for an entry-level GPU. The cheapest models can be found for around R$1,800.
