Transistors manufactured in Gate-All-Around Technology (GAA) can bring up to 20% more performance to GPUS Nvidia. This is what Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of the company believes, who spoke of it at a recent press conference at Nvidia’s GTC 2025 event.

Huang was asked about using GAA in GPUs in two generations – that is, codenamed Feynman, scheduled for 2028. He commented that the technology itself could bring an increase of 20% in the performance of these video cards.

However, the number was not mentioned as a large increase in performance, but something like “only 20%”. Huang has developed his answer by saying that evolutions in the transistor manufacturing process are welcome, but are no longer transformative. He now believes much more in the evolution of architectures made by Nvidia herself and software advances.

“We are at the limit of physics,” said the executive. It is also important to emphasize that his response was hypothetical about a possible GAA adoption by Nvidia, not ensuring that the company will use the technology by 2028. Huang also took advantage of the opportunity to emphasize that the company does not consider itself a GPUS manufacturer, but a supplier of AI infrastructure.

What would be the partner of Nvidia to GAA?

The question about Gaa to Nvidia was raising the possibility in the company to count on Samsung to manufacture their GPUs. The South Korean company has invested in Gate-All-Around for some time.

However, TSMC will also move on to technology on its long -awaited N2 (2NM) process. By 2028 the company must be providing chips of this generation to its customers, possibly even in an improved version, N2P.

Nvidia currently works with TSMC, and does not usually adopt the manufacturer’s new processes as soon as they become available. This even corroborates Huang’s speech, which has shown that he does not consider advances in manufacturing the most important factors in the new generation of a GPU.
