O CPU Grace da NVIDIA begins to show its power, and through benchmark tests the data shows that it surpasses the Intel Xeon and is very close to the AMD Threadripper 7995WX.

Developed to operate at high performance in servers and data centers, the Grace CPU is NVIDIA’s new AI solution that will reach its customers.

NVIDIA CPU outperforms Intel

Through GeekBench benchmark testing, NVIDIA’s 72-core Grace CPU showed performance levels close to AMD’s 96-core Threadripper 7995WX.

With a multi-core score of 74,400, the Grace CPU rivals AMD Threadripper and even outperforms Intel’s 56-core Xeon W9-3495X.

The Grace CPU is an integral part of Nvidia’s GH200 super chip, which was custom-built to deliver cutting-edge AI performance and will be incorporated into the next-generation B200 solution, featuring two Blackwell chips alongside the Grace CPU.

The NVIDIA Grace CPU scored 1,636 points in the single-core test and 74,400 points in the multi-core test, putting it in competition with AMD’s big guy, the Threadripper 7995WX. The Threadripper 7995WX is a 96-core processor known for its high performance with a base frequency of up to 5.1 GHz and power consumption of up to 350 W.

Designed based on the ARM architecture, NVIDIA’s Grace CPU features 72 Arm Neoverse N2 cores, employing LPDDR5x memory on the motherboard, and is currently available in two configurations that feature 117MB of L3 cache, 68 PCIe Gen5 lanes, and are manufactured using TSMC’s 4N process node:

  • Grace Superchip: two integrated Grace CPUs totaling 144 cores;
  • Grace Hopper Superchip: Combines a 72-core Grace CPU with the Hopper H200 GPU.

As can be seen in the image above, Supermicro ARS-111GL-NHR was the system tested through the GeekBench benchmark. It features a 1U design and supports the NVIDIA GH200 platform with a single Grace CPU. The CPU operates at a maximum clock speed of 3.35 GHz across all cores and has a thermal design power (TDP) rating of approximately 200W. The Grace Superchip, including LPDDR5x modules, have a TDP rating of 500W.
