NVIDIA chip with MediaTek will have its design finalized this month [RUMOR]

Rumors about a collaboration between NVIDIA and MediaTek for a new AI processor for PCs continue to appear. This time, the Chinese website IT Home claims that the supposed SoC will have its design finalized later this month, entering the production phase known as tape-out. Thus, the chip would be on track to enter mass production at the end of 2025.

Rumors have been circulating for some time about MediaTek’s supposed AI SoC in partnership with NVIDIA. The companies already work together in the automotive segment, and since May there have been leaks that this collaboration will be extended to PCs – probably notebooks.

This processor would be manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process, and was even expected to appear at this year’s Computex. We didn’t have any announcements of this kind from NVIDIA or MediaTek at the event, but that doesn’t mean the rumors stopped appearing.

The folks at Tom’s Hardware even point out possible names that would have appeared as potential customers for the new chip. According to the website, HP, Dell, Lenovo and ASUS would be interested in the component.

Based on what has been circulating in rumors regarding the supposed NVIDIA processor with MediaTek, we can speculate that we will see a chip with a proposal similar to the Snapdragon X Elite and/or Plus.

In this way, the two companies have the opportunity to differentiate themselves in what has been a critical point for Qualcomm’s solution: graphics.

According to previous leaks, the NVIDIA + MediaTek processor will be based on ARM, just like the Snapdragon X. This way, they can be compared directly, but NVIDIA has more name and credibility when it comes to GPU. Therefore, this could be an area where companies intend to promote the SoC.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have any official confirmation about the mystery component, so it’s important to keep that in mind.
