NVIDIA CEO says Samsung’s HBM process is not reliable and studies other suppliers
Regardless of past controversies, recent developments from NVIDIA CEO have made the issue relevant again.
According to a report shared by the South Korean media vehicle Hankyung, Jensen would be directly blaming Samsung executives for the problems surrounding the HBM process qualification tests. The big shot was quite straightforward: he stated that the Korean giant and his engineers cannot be entrusted.
The strangeness between those involved is not just about the HBM process. The media vehicle report also states that although Samsung offered GDDR7 memory modules to Nvidia, the green team preferably gave Micron (US company) in the assembly process of the RTX Blackwell GPUS line.
Despite South Korean’s interest in resolving issues pending in qualification tests, it seems that Huang is increasingly studying the possibility of allying strongly with other suppliers, such as the Taiwanese.
