Nvidia can considerably reduce its production volume for RTX 50 video cards in China. The decision would come to release manufacturing capacity for professional models to accelerate AI, such as the current GB200 and B40 and the new GB300, which will be released soon.
The information is not official and must be treated as a rumor. The subject originated in a post at Board Channels, a forum known for gathering people close to the hardware parts supply chain like RTX 50. An insider made a post saying (machine translation):
“Production lines for Nvidia GB20X are already with their full capacity. It is well known that the new NV GB300 has started production preparations from May and is expected to go into mass production by the end of 2025. Of course, this will occupy the production capacity of wafers, which can affect the production lines of the RTX 50 series.”
RTX 50 production can fall between 20% and 30% in China
The Board Channels post goes further and even offers an estimate of how much the reduction in sending RTX 50 units to the China market can be. We reiterate that the information is not official, and the author does not mention where his estimates come from:
“There are rumors revealing that the overall supply of the RTX 50 GPUS series has become more tight. The supply has been reduced, and the total GPUS shipping to the RTX 50 series in the Chinese market in June will decrease compared to May – estimated to be reduced between 20% and 30%.”
Although not yet confirmation, for a declared AI -focused company, it would not be a surprising decision.
Fewer available cards can mean an increase in price
As is well known, the low volume of inventory of a product is often used as an argument for increasing prices on shelves. And this has happened a lot with the RTX 50 series in the international market.

Here in Brazil it is still possible to find models of the current generation based on Blackwell for values within NVIDIA recommendations. In large US stores, however, it is much harder to find an RTX 50 for the famous MSRP.
If the information proves true, no matter how focused on the Chinese market, it can result in a global impact of product supply. June starts next week, so there is not much to see what will happen.
