A bug in the system Nubank allowed customers to make withdrawals that were incompatible with the available limit. The failure was observed by users between Thursday night and Friday morning (8). According to numerous reports on the internet, account holders were able to withdraw up to R$1,000 from ATMs using the credit function, even without this corresponding limit available.

Improper withdrawals

Remembering that the credit withdrawal modality works as a type of loan. The total amount redeemed is included in the invoice, with interest of 9.75% per month. In normal operating situations, the total amount available for this withdrawal is restricted to 15% of the limit that Nubank assigns to that customer, reaching a maximum value of R$2,5000. With the bug, even with an incompatible limit, withdrawals of up to R$1,000 were being authorized.

In a note, Nubank did not directly mention the cause of the problem or how it will identify improper withdrawals, it only mentioned that a “The fluctuation that occurred during the night temporarily affected the availability of withdrawals.

The company also confirmed that operations have now been normalized.

In addition to this bug, users also reported another problem, double billing for old purchases.

On this point, Nubank informed that “does not comment on specific cases to preserve banking secrecy and clarifies that any issue is resolved directly with customers”.
