Nintendo Switch 2: dataminers reveal chat and “C” button functions [RUMOR]

A recent datamine from Nintendo Switch 2 revealed details about a possible social functionality of the console, connected to the mysterious button “C” present in the new Joy-Cons. According to information posted on Discord servers, Nintendo’s next generation could include group and voice chat featurescodename “Campus”.

The extracted data indicates that the “Campus” feature will allow group chats with up to 12 Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) subscribers. Additionally, groups will support screen sharing, marking a significant advancement in the way players interact on the platform.

Although the function has not yet been officially confirmed, it is speculated that the button “C” be a shortcut to access or manage these functions.

Additionally, the profile also added a little more context, stating that the C button has multiple, likely contextual, functions to “share your experiences with your community.”

Maybe this is on some kind of social feed among friends? What form all this could take is still one of the biggest unknowns of all the accumulated rumors.

Voice and group chat: a change in Nintendo policy?

The inclusion of voice chat It would be a significant first for Nintendo, which has historically avoided implementing this feature natively.

On the current Switch, voice chat is limited to an external app, which has drawn criticism from many players. If confirmed, direct chat support on the console could bring Nintendo closer to models adopted by competitors such as Xbox and PlayStation.
