“We turn to suppliers based on our medium to long term business plans, but the current memory market is very volatile,” Furukawa noted. “There are no immediate impacts on our income, but it is something we must monitor closely”.
It is worth noting that the president of Nintendo did not directly mention the possibility of the Switch 2 undergoing adjustments as a result of the situation. According to him, This is just a hypothetical situation and therefore prefers not to make any public comments at this time.
Furukawa also stated that the tariffs imposed by the United States government on imports from China and Taiwan had a negative impact on his company. According to the executive, this was treated as a matter of costs, which were passed on to consumers around the planet.
Launched in June 2025, the Switch 2 was an immediate sales success and easily surpassed the initial numbers of its predecessor — but recorded an end of the year with more discreet sales.
