Nexiconn launches capture cards that upscale to 4K via AI

Nexiconn launched two new capture card models this week, the NV601 and the NV501. Both models are capable of capturing your gameplay in 4K, with the more advanced version reaching up to 144 fps. Both cards are also capable of using AI to upscale the resolution to 4K when capturing.

This is the big difference that Nexiconn wants to offer for its products. Similar to super scale technologies like NVIDIA’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR, the capture card itself upscales to 4K using AI. Thus, the player can take advantage of higher resolutions through passthrough and recording at the same time, without losing performance. At least, that’s what the manufacturer promises.

CaptureX NV601 is the most advanced version. It uses HDMI 2.1 to capture up to 4K@144, via the USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C interface. The NV501 model has almost identical configurations, with the difference being more limited in the frames per second count. Using 4K resolution, the passthrough goes up to 60fps, but recording is only at 30. Another simple difference between the products is that the NV601 is black and the NV501 is white.

Nexiconn’s two Capturex cards are now on sale, but with limited availability at launch. For now, the products are only sold on Amazon in Japan.

The NV501 was advertised for ¥21,000. This is approximately R$795 at the current yen exchange rate. The NV601 model appears for ¥33,300, approximately R$1,260 at the time of writing this post.

Finally, Nexiconn highlights that it offers its own streaming application to take advantage of the new capture cards. The attraction of Nexiconnector, according to the manufacturer, is that it allows you to stream to YouTube, Twitch, Steam and Facebook simultaneously, while OBS charges to allow streaming on more than one platform at the same time.
