New Phison PCIe 5.0 SSD for data centers is 128TB and reaches 14,600 MB/s

This week, Phison presented its new reference SSD for data centers, the Pascari D205V. The drive offers 128TB of capacity, reaching up to 14,600MB/s in sequential reading on the PCIe 5.0 interface. The manufacturer says this is the fastest large-capacity SSD in the world.

Phison’s new storage drive uses its proprietary X2 controller, and 2Tb 3D NAND QLC components. The product connects via the PCIe 5.0 x4 interface to one or two PCIe 5.0 x2 ports. In addition to the reading speed, Phison also announced that sequential recording is 3,200MB/s. The random read is estimated at 3 million IOPS.

As you would expect, Phison promotes its new product as a solution to meet the demands of AI servers:

Phison SSD can be used by other brands

Phison is especially famous for its drive controllers, and the Pascari D205V can be used as a reference SSD by other brands. In other words, the product should appear with customizations and other names by Phison partners after its launch, which takes place in Q2 2025. The company is preparing the first drives in U.2 and E3.L formats.
