New PCIE 5.0 Cable of LIAN LI facilitates installations with angular connector

Lian Li announced this week its new Riser cable for the PCIE 5.0 connection. Also known as the “extender”, this type of cable serves to help with the vertical installation of the GPU, allowing the PCIE connection of the plate to reach the motherboard input.

The differential that Lian LI seeks to offer with its new accessory is the angled connector, which can move between 180º and 90º. This should give more flexibility in installing different plates models in different cabinet designs without a concern to keep the cable constantly flexed.

The cable measures 200mm, and we can see in the manufacturer’s demonstration that it has been perfectly calculated for its universal vertical video card installation kits. It is compatible with the universal vertical kit and the A3-1 vertical kit. With the correct installation, the Riser cable is completely hidden.

While many users choose to install the GPU vertically for aesthetics, to show the product more, there is also a practical advantage in position. Place the video card thus force the PCIE connection on the motherboard, helping to avoid wear.

New Lian Li cable should not impact on performance

Another attraction of the new Riser is its compatibility with PCIE 5.0, promising a 32GB/s data transfer rate. This should ensure an ignorable impact on your video card’s performance, even the most advanced models.

Tom’s hardware staff points out that Lian Li’s vertical GPU installation kits are often accompanied by Riser cables, but are models compatible with PCIE 4.0 only. In order to enjoy the most current PCI generation, users will need to invest in the single cable.

Speaking of “investing”, unfortunately Lian Li has not yet disclosed the price for its new Riser cable. The product, however, already appears listed on Amazon, so it must have its cost released soon.
