New GPU NVIDIA for China would be the RTX 5090DD, with 24GB of memory [RUMOR]

Nvidia can launch another SKU for its RTX 50 line soon. According to rumors, RTX 5090DD may be the new version of RTX 5090D, to once again meet US requirements that restrict very advanced GPUS exports to China.

The RTX 5090D is already a limited version of the standard RTX 5090 that Nvidia has made to export to the Asian country. The plate features GPU GB202-250 instead of the GB202-300 and has its reduced IA performance. However, even this model had its sales suspended in Chinese territory.

Now we have more than one different insider talking about RTX 5090DD, which would be a more limited version of the RTX 5090D. The plate would use a new GPP GB202-240 and would come with less memory: 24GB with 384-bit instead of 32GB with 512-bit. According to rumors, the number of cuda nuclei would be kept at 21,760, and the TGP at 575W.

RTX 5090DD does not yet have a launch window

We had rumors in late May that Nvidia was preparing a RTX 5090D with less capable of selling again in China. Now we have two different sources calling the 5090dd RTX plate, which gives credibility not only for the existence of the plate but also to the name.

It is interesting to remember that the first model of this style was the RTX 4090D, with D of “Dragon”, since the sign was launched to China in the dragon year. It is now visible that the letter has lost its meaning and has become only the way Nvidia denotes its limited GPUS.

Although we have various details of the plate appearing in the leaks, unfortunately they do not report a possible launch window for the new model.

Only in China, only by partners

Another interesting detail in the posts of Megasizegpu and Kopite7kimi is that the two mention SKU 40 and PG145 for the plate. According to Videocardz, the 145 refers to the plate’s reference design, which Nvidia’s partners will use in their custom versions of the RTX 5090DD.

This indicates, then, that we will not see a reference plate being traded directly by the company, which would be expected.

Finally, it is noteworthy that Kopite7kimi comments that “has a surprise”, without giving tips on what it could be. So it seems that Nvidia still has some letter in the sleeve we don’t expect for RTX 5090DD.
