Lip-BU Tan, the new CEO of Intel, sent a letter to the company’s shareholders to reaffirm that its arrival will not drastically affect the company’s roadmap. That is, the launch of the processor Panther Lake generation is still scheduled for the second half of 2025, while the Nova Lake have been confirmed for next year.
The document was attached to the Annual Income Report that Intel already offers its investors normally. Tan begins his letter (page 3) saying he believes the company’s recovery begins by renewing its focus on customers. And this includes not only domestic customers, but also OEMs and software suppliers.
“About 7 in 10 pcs worldwide use Intel … But it’s not just hardware that makes me optimistic for our customer business,” says the CEO in his letter. “It is also working with over 200 software sellers in more than 400 instances to optimize your Intel silicon software. This is strengthening our position as the CPU chosen in a valuable growing market.”
Tan then mentions the new generations of Intel CPUS. “We will further improve our position in the second half of this year with the launch of Panther Lake, our Intel 18a leader product, followed by Nova Lake in 2026.”
Tan’s letter also reiterates layoff plans and spending cuts at Intel
The focus on launching new products and the debut of the long -awaited process 18a should be interesting to investors, but few things cheer shareholders more than cutting expenses. And that’s why even before mentioning the Panther Lake, Lip-BU Tan reaffirms your commitment to earlier spending Intel plans.
