A new leak of images of the supposed box of an RTX 5080 is circulating on the internet. This time it is a Gaming Trio model, from MSI. Previously we had a possible Galax model appearing, but the photos now offer much better quality. Thus, we can once again see the 16GB GDDR7 memory capacity for the RTX 5080.
The box images also confirm the 256-bit band and inform that this MSI model offers three DisplayPort ports and one HDMI. However, nothing is said about the graphics card clock, and an “OC Edition” seal appears on the front of the packaging.
In terms of design, we can see a card that occupies at least 2.5 slots, with a robust size for three fans. It is as the name suggests, as it is an MSI RTX 5080 Gaming Trio. The card appears to have silver details and the three bands running through the middle appear to be RGB LEDs.
VideoCardz highlights that the technologies highlighted for this GPU are strictly the same as what the RTX 4080 already offered. This is what the Galax box also indicated, but now it is possible to confirm it with the better quality of the images.
Should the RTX 5080 arrive before the RTX 5090?
Leaked images of the boxes for the RTX 5080 appearing before the RTX 5090 seem to be a strong indication that this model will also hit the shelves first. Today we had rumors circulating even pointing to a possible date for the model: January 21st.
Related news:
The RTX 5080 is expected to use a Blackwell GB203-400 GPU, with 10,752 CUDA cores. The board must connect via the PCIe 5.0 interface, but this is not confirmed on the MSI model box.
Now we are very close to the NVIDIA keynote, which will take place on January 6th at CES 2025. But who knows, we might see more card model boxes leaked before the date arrives.
