MSI follows ASUS and also makes available an AGESA 1.2.0.2 beta BIOS update for its AM5 motherboards – with the content arriving for the B650, A620 and X670 models.
There are 18 motherboards that have received the update as of this writing, which aims to improve the latency and performance of AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen5” CPUs. See the full list below with the download links for each one:
It is important to emphasize that this firmware update is still in beta version, that is, MSI released the AGESA PI 1.2.0.2 BIOS for use in testing. So far, it is the only solution to the inter-core latency issues found in the new Ryzen 9000 processors.
The final BIOS version 1.2.0.2 is expected to arrive later this September, with all recent motherboard models – from both MSI and other manufacturers – supported. It is also expected to include the 105W TDP mode, recently added for the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X CPUs.
