MSI details its most powerful AM5 board yet, the MEG X870E GODLIKE

MSI has released the first details for its most advanced AM5 motherboard yet – the MEG X870E GODLIKE. A blueprint was shared by WCCFTech, highlighting some of the features the board will offer and design changes over the previous model.

MSI’s GODLIKE line of motherboards, as the name suggests, spares no expense in trying to offer the most advanced motherboard models on the market. Thus, the X670E chipset also had its version, and now it’s the turn of the X870E, which makes a few changes. First of all, check out the diagram of the new motherboard below:

Here is the list of features of the MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE, as highlighted by VideoCardz:

• Suporte a AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 e 7000 (socket AM5)
• 28-phase VRM design
• Dual 8-pin CPU connectors
• Four DDR5 DIMM slots (up to 256GB)
• EXPO profile support
• 8 portas USB-C (2x 40Gbps, 1x 20Gbps, 5x 10Gbps)
• 2 PCIe Gen 5 slots (x16/x8 electrical)
• 5 slots M.2 (2x Gen 5, 3x Gen 4)
• 4 SATA III ports
• Additional 8-pin connector for PCIe
• Steel-reinforced memory and PCIe slots

As it appears in the listing, and as you would expect, this card comes with the extra power connector for PCIe. More or less officially, this feature is intended for the RTX 50 generation of Nvidia cards based on Blackwell.

X870E boards coming in September, but GODLIKE only later

The new generation of socket AM5 motherboards for AMD Ryzen 9000 processors will arrive in September. This includes, of course, the MSI models, but probably not the MEG GODLIKE version.

This more advanced and much more expensive model should only arrive after the first “wave” of launches. VideoCardz estimates that the first models will only appear on September 30, which would be the date when the embargo on reviews of these components would be lifted.
