MSI has unveiled its Claw 8 AI+ handheld device at Computex 2024, the first to feature an Intel Lunar Lake CPU, improved battery life, and more features than the manufacturer’s current model. However, despite revealing a lot of the hardware, they haven’t officially released its specs – at least, until now.

In a slide leaked by “Lowyat“, we can see all the configurations that the new device will have at its launch. It is important to note that the processor is restricted due to being part of Intel’s embargo, but the other information is visible and will also be detailed below:

MSI Claw 8 AI+ Battery Focus

One of the main complaints from the public about portable devices like the MSI Claw 7 and even the ROG Ally is precisely the battery, with manufacturers taking steps to improve this aspect and keep users playing for longer.

The MSI Claw 8 AI+’s 80 Wh battery is nearly 50% larger than the one seen in the previous model, providing a more suitable solution to the problem and also becoming a similar option taken by ASUS with its ROG Ally X (which still has AMD’s Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU and a 7-inch display, by comparison).

It is possible that this will make the portable device a little heavier than the MSI Claw 7 and also larger, but this information has not yet been confirmed by the manufacturer.

MSI Claw 8 AI+ Launch

A release date for the MSI Claw 8 AI+ has not yet been announced, but considering that Intel is rumored to be launching its Lunar Lake CPUs in early September, this will likely be one of the first official mobile processor products to be revealed. We’ll just have to wait and see.
