Very popular among PC enthusiasts, the MSI Afterburner software made its name by allowing real-time monitoring of GPU operation, as well as facilitating overclocking. However, the creator of the solution claims that This won’t be the only category of hardware it will be able to manage in the near future.

In a message posted on the Guru3D forums, developer ‘Unwinder’ stated that he is already working on version 4.6.7 Beta of the program. According to him, one of the focuses of the update will be to bring improvements to the component voltage/frequency curve editor.

Last Saturday (25), he also stated that received a new “engineering sample” that is not a GPU. “With the upcoming Beta release of MSI Afterburner, a new class of MSI hardware products will be natively supported in the monitoring module”, he promised.

MSI Afterburner change accompanies several mysteries

Despite having given a small teaser of what awaits the future of MSI Afterburner, Unwinder did not provide further details of what it is preparing. According to him, confirmation that a new class of hardware will gain native support is all he can share at the moment.

While nothing has been confirmed, it is most likely that the software will gain greater compatibility with the MSI Claw laptop. Launched in March 2024, the device has several features that combine well with the software’s proposal: in addition to being specialized in games, it also works based on Windows.

In this case, the software could extend its compatibility to RDNA 3.5 or newer GPUs, given the technical characteristics of the device. There is also the possibility that MSI Afterburner will gain greater compatibility with motherboards, a segment in which the manufacturer has a very active presence.

What seems certain so far is that the update, regardless of its characteristics, It shouldn’t take long to make your debut. This should be great news for software users, who had to wait two years for version 4.6.6 to debut in September this year.
