Motorola has finally announced the arrival of its object tracker, the Moto dayto the Brazilian market. With a starting price of R$ 299the device comes to compete directly with other popular trackers, such as the Apple AirTag and the Samsung SmartTag.

The Moto Tag had been approved by Anatel in July 2024 and is now officially available for purchase on the Motorola website. For those who choose to pay in cash, the unit costs R$ 269.10. It is also possible to purchase a kit with four units, which costs R$1,099, or R$989.10 in cash.

The Motorola tracker relies on technology Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) e Ultra-Wideband (UWB)which help users locate objects, such as backpacks, suitcases and wallets, using the service Find My Device. Furthermore, Moto Tag is compatible with Android cell phones from different brands, not limited to just Motorola devices.

Another highlight of the device is its battery. CR2032which is removable and can last up to a year, depending on use. The device is also certified IP67ensuring resistance to dust and immersion in water of up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.

A Moto day It is available in green and dark blue. Additionally, Motorola plans future updates that will allow the tracker to be used to trigger the Android smartphone camera remotely. The company also highlights privacy concerns, using end-to-end encryption to ensure that only the device owner or an authorized person can view its location.

With a price of around R$299 in Brazil, the value of the Moto Tag is higher compared to its price in the United States, where it costs approximately US$ 30 (around R$170 in current conversion). Even so, the proposal for a universal solution for Android devices can be a competitive differentiator in relation to the alternatives offered by Apple and Samsung, which work better within their respective ecosystems.
