A first official image of the motherboard GIGABYTE B850M AORUS Elite Ice was revealed by the VideoCardz website, showing the white design and robust features of this Micro-ATX model.

Expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2025, this motherboard is part of the new AMD B850 chipset line, offering a cost-effective alternative to the Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” series.

The board must support CPU and memory overclocking, maintaining features such as the “X3D Boost” of the X870 series, and bringing modern features such as integrated Wi-Fi 6E.

Features of the B850 chipset

The B850 chipset is a single-chip solution, just like the X870, but with some differences: PCIe Gen 5 support is optional, ensuring at least one M.2 NVMe Gen 5 slot, in addition to making USB4 an extra option.

The Micro-ATX board design includes an easy eject lever for the PCIe x16 slot and an M.2 cooling system for the Gen 5 slot. Power is via 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors — for support at high power settings.

A AMD is expected to officially announce the B850 cards during CES 2025which takes place at the beginning of January and will have complete coverage of Adrenaline, confirming the specifications and launching the new product to the market.
