Last week a post involving RTX 5090 began to gain popularity in Reddit. A user who signs as JamesFerg650 claimed to have received a bag in place of his GPU, inside the packaged and sealed box. Now we have information that more than 30 people buying in the same store has gone through the problem.
The purchase was made at the Micro Center store in Santa Clara, USA. After being accused of trying to scam the store, JamesFerg650 offered an update including micro center statements, and reporting that a total of 32 people have gone through the same problem.
Apparently, an entire Lot of RTX 5090 sent by Zotac to the establishment had the signs exchanged for scholarships, indicating the possibility of employees of the company itself stolen the GPU before the boxes were sealed.
The Glamaholic bag, including, is not a “random” item. Apparently its weight is almost identical to that of a RTX 5090, so they were chosen specifically for the blow.

The Micro Center lists this RTX 5090 model in question for $ 2,900, resulting in a total of $ 92,800 in stolen GPUs. And the store also had to send extra signs replacing its affected customers.
The establishment states that the exchange took place at the installation of Zotac in China, and the company’s representative in the US says it is investigating the case.
JamesFerg650, author of the posts that revealed the scheme, made many compliments to the micro center and thanked the store for the treatment he received in the process of replacing his new nearly $ 3,000 bag for the plate that was really trying to buy.
