Moore Threads will present new generation Chinese GPU on December 19th

The domestic graphics card market for home use in China has been growing little by little, but Moore Threads can be considered a pioneer. The company has been offering products in the segment since 2022, and is now preparing for the official announcement of the next generation of its GPUs made in the country itself.

The revelation will be made at the company’s own event, the first MUSA Developer Conference (MDC). MUSA is the name of the Moore Threads GPU platform, something comparable to NVIDIA’s CUDA, for example.

The event focuses on professional processing for AI, use of hardware for scientific research, smart terminals and other large-scale uses of components. In other words, the next GPU architecture from Moore Threads should be revealed first aimed at professional products, and we do not expect to see its application in dedicated graphics cards for PCs as early as MDC 2025.

Again, the Chinese company seems to be following in the footsteps of NVIDIA, which also always presents its new generations of GPUs first in professional products, and then shows its versions on domestic RTX cards. Sometimes much later.

Moore Threads accelerates internal GPU competition in China

Currently, Moore Threads offers MTT S80, MTTS70 and MTT S30 dedicated graphics cards in the domestic segment in China. The models are in order from most advanced to most accessible.

VideoCardz reports that the MTT S80 was aiming for an RTX 3060 in theory, but in practice it never went much further than a GTX 1650. One of the main reasons for this would be the lack of driver optimization and broader support for current APIs, especially DirectX.

Moore Threads has dedicated itself to these areas and has shown considerable performance gains in specific games, so there is a positive expectation for its next generation of GPUs.
