The famous monster hunting franchise Monster Hunter is becoming even bigger and also making its presence felt on smartphones. It turns out that Capcom announced a partnership with TiMi Studios, known for hits like Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokémon Unite, to create Monster Hunter Outlanders.

The game brings a somewhat ambitious proposal, an open-world survival RPG, which will allow players to explore, hunt and create items, bringing the essence of the series to a more social experience and with live service features.

The success of Monster Hunter and the expansion of the series

The new mobile game, Outlanders, is being designed to be played both solo and cooperatively, allowing up to four players to face the game’s challenges together. Capcom seems to have considered the particularities of the mobile audience, bringing interactive and social features that are popular in mobile games.

Since the release of Monster Hunter World in 2018, the franchise has reached new heights. The game not only became the best-selling title in Capcom’s history, but also consolidated the brand across different media, with the production of a live-action film and other releases, such as Monster Hunter Rise.

More recently, Capcom announced the next big title in the series, Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled for next year.

Now, with the arrival of a title for mobile devices, the company shows that it wants to bring another bet to the franchise. And taking into account TiMi Studios’ history, what is expected is that the new game will take the quality of the franchise’s hunting experience to a new level.

The series’ tradition as a portable experience, popular on consoles like the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch, also indicates that Outlanders’ format should appeal to both old fans and new players.
