A modder known as Beautiful-Turnip-353 caught attention in the technology communities and hardware enthusiasts when installing a fully functional miniature train on top of your graphics card. The unusual creation unites two distinct worlds: that of personalized PCs and that of model railways in a project that quickly went viral.
The small railway circuit uses the T-gauge standardthe smallest commercially available train model, with tracks only 3mm wide and scale between 1:450 e 1:500.
The choice allowed the composition to fit on the body of a modern GPU, creating a dynamic scene that can be seen through the side window of the case.
Technology and precision on a microscopic scale
T-gauge trains are known for offering Realistically controlled speeds and for using magnetized rails that facilitate assembly even in limited spaces. Therefore, they are ideal for compact projects — and even for mods of this type. According to the creator, larger versions, such as the Z-gauge, would require curves with a minimum radius of 120 mm, which would make installation within a common cabinet unfeasible.
The modder explained that the train is powered by an Arduino connected to a USB portsending a sinal PWM de 5V to the tracks.
The objective is to evolve the project to use an internal PWM fan headerallowing you to control the speed of the train via software, such as FanControl, and even synchronize it with the system temperature — the hotter the PC, the faster the train.
In your own words, “I want to do an even more themed build in the future, but something is better than nothing”the creator joked when commenting that he still intends to include landscapes, lights and other details in the composition.

Creativity on the move
The community reacted with enthusiasm and several suggestions. Some users recommended integrating signaling, lighting and automated control systems to transform the PC into a true living model.
Others have imagined the potential of tying train motion to computer performance, with acceleration proportional to GPU or processor load.
Even at an early stage, the project demonstrates how much culture DIY (do it yourself) continues to inspire visual and technical experimentation in the world of custom PCs.
The “PCI Express train” has become a symbol of how imagination and humor can coexist with hardware engineering and design.

The cabinet becomes a model
The creator has already announced that he intends to develop more complex versions, with indoor landscapes, interactive tracks and even miniature steam locomotives circulating inside the cabinet.
The community is now waiting to see how far this fusion between modeling and modding can go… A project that, literally, put the PC on the rails of creativity.
