The MS-A1, one of Minisforum’s many mini PCs, caught attention when it arrived in July as one of the first and smallest product options of its kind with an AM5 socket. Now, the manufacturer is finally taking more advantage of this configuration and offers an option to configure the MS-A1 with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X.
At its original launch, the mini PC could be purchased only “barebones” (without CPU) or with a Ryzen 7 8700G. This is an interesting option for everyday computer use, which comes with competent integrated graphics in the form of the Radeon 780M.
The new MS-A1 variant, however, is for those looking for more computing power. The Ryzen 9 9950X has twice the number of cores, going up to 16 Zen 5 cores, but the iGPU drops to a Radeon 610M.
Furthermore, with this processor the mini PC loses support for USB4, being limited to USB3. However, this means more unoccupied PCIe lanes, which can be useful depending on your use of the MS-A1, especially for networking and work. It also has four M.2 slots for SSDs and OCuLink connection.
The new version of Minisforum’s mini PC with a more powerful processor is now on sale on the brand’s official website. The product can be found there for US$919, the equivalent of R$5,553 at the current price.

However, to buy the MS-A1 at this price, the user will still have to invest in RAM, storage and an operating system, because this version doesn’t come with any of that.
The most complete variant of the mini PC, with 64GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD, increases the price to US$ 1,199, which is R$ 7,245.
