Minisforum launched its newest mini PC this week, the 790S7. The brand is famous for its compact computers in mini-ITX format, but what sets this product apart is that it holds a desktop video card, while maintaining a total volume of 7L.
As expected, no GPU fits into the small Minisforum 790S7. The manufacturer recommends a low profile card like the Gigabyte RTX 4060 OC-8GL. Taking the suggested model as a reference, we can say that the mini PC accepts cards measuring 182 x 69 x 40mm, or smaller. The slot is a PCIe 5.0×16.
The rest of the specifications of Minisforum’s new compact PC vary widely. The product can be purchased with a complete or “barebone” AMD processor – without RAM, storage drive or operating system. Additionally, it has an alternative version with an Intel CPU.
The mini PC measures 298 x 225 x 95mm, comes with an HDMI 2.1 connection and a DisplayPort 1.4, and draws 400W to operate.

Minisforum 790S7 spec options and prices
The “barebone” 790S7 with AMD Ryzen 9 7940HX costs US$569 (R$3,167) on the official Minisforum website. However, it has a promotional launch price, costing US$459 (R$2,555).
Anyone who wants to buy the complete mini PC will get the mini PC accompanied by 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD and Windows 11. The base price goes to US$1,169 (R$6,507), but there is also a launch discount, costing US$ 939 (R$5,227) at the time we wrote this post.

Minisforum’s new small computer also has another version, the 129i7. In this option, it comes with Intel Core i9-12900HK and only has the “barebone” option. The standard price is US$489 (R$2,722), going for US$399 (R$2,221) at the moment.
Ironically, despite its main attraction being the space for a desktop GPU, Minisforum does not offer a mini PC variant that comes with a dedicated graphics card.
