Minisforum has announced a new version of its small professional PC, the MS-A2. The mini computer now brings Ryzen 9 9955hx or 7945hx as processor options, maintaining a compact volume of only 1.8l.
The well-known mini PCs manufacturer drew attention to the previous version of its workstation, the MS-A1, because it had incorporated a desktop socket AM5 on the device, then offering users from the Ryzen 7000 to 9000 options, with the possibility of upgrades.
The MS-A2, however, sacrifices the possibility of upgrades by two mobile processor options, even if they are HX products-modified from Dekstop to notebooks. In both cases we have 16 -core CPUS, but 9955HX offers Zen 5, while 7945HX comes with Zen 4.
While making a sacrific on the processor part, the minisforum at least maintained dedicated GPU support, so the new mini PC is compatible with half -height low profile video cards, only by the PCIE 4.0 connection.

The manufacturer highlights some specifications for your new product. The MS-A2 offers two DDR5 Slots for RAM, supported by up to 96GB capacities. In addition, it supports U.2 up to 15tb SSDs, and Videocardz adds that there are three M.2 slots as well.
The new Mini -forum Mini PC Workstation also features two 10g SFP+ ports and 2.5g Dual Lan. Complementing the connections, in the video part we have an HDMI output and two USB-C ports compatible with displayport.

The MS-A2 was announced for $ 839 in its Barebone version with Ryzen 9 9955hx. That is, without RAM or storage drive. Accompanying 64GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD, the value goes to $ 1,103. The Mini PC is now available on pre-sale on the Minisforum website and the company expects to start shipping at the end of May.
