Who uses the Metro Rio You can pick up orders without leaving your commute to work or college, everything designed to provide passengers with more comfort and practicality. Called lockers, Correios’ smart lockers are installed in eight stations of the Rio subway system, namely: Uruguai/Tijuca, Saens Peña/Tijuca, Carioca/Centro, Coelho Neto, Triagem, Carioca/Centro, Cantagalo/Copacabana and São Conrado .
The innovations don’t stop there, the Post Office’s self-service terminals are able to receive national parcels, such as SEDEX, PAC and Mini Envios, in addition to the international Packet service. To make things easier, the Correios logistics platform is integrated with the country’s main e-commerce websites. Therefore, the service speeds up the delivery of online purchases and meets the demand of consumers who want to receive their goods safely.
“In such dynamic times, bringing greater ease and convenience to our customers is a priority. With this in mind, the locker service, in strategic points, such as Rio’s subway stations, which receive thousands of people daily, is a great example that we are on the right path”says Simone Pfeil, Commercial and Marketing manager at MetrôRio.
How does it work?
After making the online purchase and selecting the Post Office self-service terminal at the nearest station to collect the order, the customer will receive a QR Code that will electronically open the compartment door, so that they can collect their product. This service does not incur a fee.
All information about self-service terminals can be found on the official Correios website: Link
