NVIDIA may significantly cut supply of kits for its RTX 50 GPUs in the first half of 2026, according to rumors. Information coming from different sources points to a reduction in product units, due to the price of memory components, which is increasingly inflated.
The rumors started on Board Channels, a forum known for bringing together people with knowledge of the hardware product supply chain. The platform, however, is very focused on China, so much of its inside information only refers to the Asian country.
“According to the latest rumors, NVIDIA is also taking into account the long-term impact of memory products, and may adjust its GPU supply strategy for AIBs in the mainland China market,” the post says. Rumors predict a very large cut:
“Based on unconfirmed and potentially misleading information, NVIDIA is rumored to be planning production cuts for the RTX 50 series of GPUs during the first half of 2026, with supply expected to be 30 to 40% lower compared to the first half of 2025.”

The Board Channels post itself highlights that there is no confirmation of the rumors, but a piece of news also appeared on Benchlife, corroborating the information. The website does not talk about the level of cuts that could happen, but it does mention which models in the RTX 50 series should be affected first:
“In addition to the Board Channels news, several AIB partners and component suppliers also mentioned to us that NVIDIA will first adjust supply of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB GDDR7.”

Even if the information is true, it may not be reflected in the global market for now. However, with memory price inflation unlikely to improve soon, one can imagine that measures like these will appear more and more around the world.
